Damian Priest Praises Oba Femi, CM Punk Reveals Why He Visits The Performance Center Often

Damian Priest is extremely taken by Oba Femi’s performance so far in WWE NXT.

At last weekend’s signing event for UpUpDownDown’s Fanatics Fest, the ex-Judgment Day member shared that he believes Femi has all the ingredients required to become a huge star. He articulated,

“Astoundingly impressive. The limited time he has spent in the business and what he’s achieved already — that predicts a future superstar. You can sense it sometimes — he’s on the right trajectory.”

Priest added, “Provided he keeps his focus and intensity, he’ll do great. I believe that’s an inevitable outcome… I’m not too thrilled about that though [laughs].”

CM Punk regularly visits the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL to offer his expertise to the aspiring talent there.

During a recent guest appearance on the “No-Contest Wrestling” podcast, Punk shared why he enjoys working with the upcoming talent.

Some key takeaways from the podcast include:

On his visits to the WWE Performance Center: “Returning home, I am always overwhelmed and emotional. One day, I woke up, and I was that guy. When young aspirants approach me with a childhood picture from an autograph session and say, ‘You motivated me to pursue this.’ It’s akin to me telling Roddy Piper, ‘You’re the inspiration behind my career,’ I’m not sure how much it might mean to Piper, but expressing it was significant to me.”

On endeavoring to spare talent from the difficulties he experienced during his stint at OVW: “Even though there are independent events sporadically, how beneficial are they if they occur only once a month? When I got signed and was sent to Kentucky for OVW, I had my reservations… The arrangements then were starkly different from those available now. For instance, today’s NXT is akin to a sports college program. Everything is in-house, even air conditioning [laughs].”
