Kelani Jordan, the reigning WWE NXT North American Women’s Champion, gave some insights into her wrestling career during a recent interview on the “Musical Memory” podcast. She also shares her parents’ reactions to her victories in the wrestling arena.
Some highlights from the podcast are presented below:
On being crowned as North American Women’s Champion, she reflected: “Winning the NXT Women’s North American Championship was an incredible feeling. I recall sitting atop the ladder, my hands trembling with nervousness and excitement. It was a surreal moment, almost like I left my body behind. Seeing the reactions of the fans brought home the realization that I had just etched my name in history. I was in such a state of awe and disbelief that it felt like an unexpected dream, and I couldn’t fully grasp the reality of what was happening.”
When discussing how her parents reacted to her victory, she revealed: “My mom is usually the emotional one, but I had never seen my dad in tears before. Seeing him cry made me more emotional, as it was evidence of his pride in me. What made the moment even more emotional was recalling all the times we watched wrestling together during my childhood.”
