During a recent episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” professional wrestler Cody Rhodes discussed the optimistic mood behind the WWE scenes as Monday Night RAW gears up to transition to Netflix.
Rhodes expressed enthusiasm about the shift and talked about the expansion of WWE content distribution.
In his own words, Rhodes said, “I think the locker room is through the roof morale-wise in terms of going to Netflix. We all have it, we all watch Netflix and love it, but the idea of the streaming era, truthfully, WWE in the past was actually always a little bit ahead of the curve, in terms of banking content. At first it was 24/7 on demand, then it was the Network and now Peacock, but Netflix is gonna be huge for us.”
He went on to say, “When I mention expansion and our future direction, I believe certain individuals in the locker room, some of the champions, some of the top performers are also aware, we’re elevating in terms of our public awareness, I guess. College football, NFL, those are the most significant things globally. They indeed are. We’re ascending and striving to occupy that space, and if you know anything about our journey, we’re not far off, and Netflix, I believe, is a crucial part of that. This arrangement is a significant deal for Netflix, and it’s a massive deal for WWE. I’m just thrilled that we get to surf this new trend.”
WWE RAW is set to premiere on Netflix on January 6, presenting its first episode of the new year.
