Cody Rhodes has hinted that the journey to WrestleMania 41 started a bit earlier than expected following the major developments at WWE Bad Blood 2024.
The pay-per-view event famous for its surprises was no exception this year, with Rhodes teaming up with Roman Reigns to clinch a victory over The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. The highlight of the night was when wrestling icon, The Rock, showed up in the aftermath of the match.
Post match, Rhodes found himself on the receiving end of an attack orchestrated by Kevin Owens, marking the climax of the ongoing feud between these two SmackDown stars.
In a conversation with the Manchester Evening News, Rhodes dissected the events that took place in Atlanta, which might have implications for WrestleMania 41. He shared,
“It’s a highly passionate arena, where everyone is aiming for the ultimate target – the WWE championship, a prestigious title that I’m currently holding. I’m unsure whether this unfolding process will be rendered on screens, either on Smackdown, Raw or during our overseas tour.”
“The realm of Pro Wrestling and sports entertainment has a penchant for such details. Maybe it will happen or perhaps it will be dealt with in-house. Overall, I am pleased with my performance at Bad Blood. Being proud of my hometown Atlanta, where I was brought up, and seeing what occurred there was gratifying. I regard this as an early onset of the road to WrestleMania this year.”
Earlier this year, it was revealed that a showdown between Rhodes and The Rock, in a WWE Champion vs. The People’s Champion match, was in the pipeline for WrestleMania 41.
The Rock’s appearance at Bad Blood 2024, where he counted to three, has left fans wondering if a triple threat match involving Reigns is on the horizon.
