Janel Grant is optimistically aspiring that WWE will relax its nondisclosure regulations, thereby enabling others to reveal alleged misconducts with confidence.
According to the Associated Press, Grant and her team initiated communication with the legal representatives of WWE, its former CEO Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis on Monday evening.
Grant’s hope revolves around the possibility that if WWE were not to enforce these clauses, additional purported victims of McMahon, who resigned from WWE in January, would feel comfortable sharing their stories.
It has been reported that McMahon had paid an estimated million to silence four women about reported extramarital affairs during his tenure as WWE’s top executive.
In the aftermath of Grant’s lawsuit filing, Ann Callis expressed that she had been “frankly overwhelmed” due to the surge of individuals who have bravely shared their accusations.
Among the allegations which Grant cited is one of sexual abuse and being trafficked by McMahon, which involved Laurinaitis and others within WWE, all in a bid to secure her position within the company.
Despite these allegations, McMahon and his legal representatives have categorically denied any wrongdoing, countering that Grant is a resentful ex-partner seeking retribution against McMahon due to their separation.
