Tam Nakano, the reigning World of STARDOM Champion, has expressed her desire to face off against AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone, at the 2025 Wrestle Dynasty event. The event, to be held on January 5th, will showcase talents from NJPW, STARDOM, AEW, ROH, and CMLL.
Nakano revealed her ambitions during a recent interview with Tokyo Sports. She mentioned that she aims to redeem herself from her past losses during her title reign, including those to Aja Kong and Willow Nightingale, and take revenge on the ones who defeated her. She wishes to uphold her defenses in venues like Korakuen.
She also mentioned her long-standing desire to win the belt from IWGP Women’s Champion Mayu Iwatani, a belt now held by Mone, whom she bears a grudge against. She teased an intriguing potential face-off with the latter at Wrestle Dynasty.
In an unrelated piece of news, Gabe Kidd, the current NJPW Strong Openweight Champion, will be making an open challenge at the Fighting Spirit Unleashed event. After Yuji Nagata’s Blue Justice XIV event, Kidd gave a sneak peek into his plans, stating he has been beating people at Ring of Honor and visited America, without a scratch.
He further stated that he dominated America, and questions why he is not in the main event despite being a champion. Kidd feels that his title is the most prestigious in America and calls out any contenders for an open challenge on November 8th.
