In a recent episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Fame member, Booker T, shared his thoughts on diverse topics, most notably the debut of MVP and Shelton Benjamin in AEW and his opinion on whether Swerve Strickland should join the Hurt Syndicate.

Highlights from the podcast are given below:

Talking about the arrival of MVP, he stated: “When equating MVP to a personality like Paul Heyman, I don’t mean it rudely to Heyman or to mock MVP. The idea was to emphasize how MVP could take up a role similar to Heyman’s, if anyone had to inherit the torch. In the current wrestling realm, if we had to nominate a potential manager to boost young talent, I’d pick MVP. That’s just it.”

He also responded to some critics, pointing out, “People are misinterpreting my words when they claim ‘MVP isn’t Paul Heyman.’ They’re missing the main point. MVP has done a remarkable job with the cards he’s been dealt thus far, transitioning smoothly from his in-ring career to other roles. Not every wrestler thinks of doing that, nor is every wrestler capable of it, and that’s why I applaud MVP.”

Regarding the possibility of Swerve Strickland joining the Hurt Syndicate, he shared his perspective stating, “Although I can picture that happening, I’m not sure if Strickland would want to be part of a collective unit like that. Personally, if I were Swerve, I would prefer paving my way alone, without any group affiliation. He is doing some extraordinary work on his own and being part of a group might obscure his individual success. I wouldn’t want to see him in the same situation as Ludwig and Giovanni, overshadowed by Gunther. While Swerve would indeed be a terrific addition to any group, I would still advise him to stay solo if I were in his shoes.”
