Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, made a public appearance during the WWE Bad Blood 2024 event. The notable occasion was attended by a sold-out crowd of 16,092, marking the 60th sold-out event of the year and setting a record for the highest gate for a WWE arena show.
Triple H, however, had more to share than just these remarkable figures. He also unveiled an exciting new feature that will be incorporated into future WWE Crown Jewel events.
The upcoming Crown Jewel event scheduled for November 2, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will set the new standard. There will be two exceptional matches showcased where the RAW and SmackDown World Champions from both men’s and women’s divisions will square off. No current titles will be at risk, but a newly created Crown Jewel Championship with 50k diamonds will be up for the taking, signifying the superior World Champion.
This innovative feature will take the age-old rivalry and “battle for supremacy” concept of RAW and SmackDown, previously applied to events like Night of Champions, Bragging Rights and Survivor Series, and spin it into a fresh format.
In an intriguing development, during the event GUNTHER notably challenged Bill Goldberg, who was in attendance at ringside. GUNTHER taunted Goldberg, insinuating that he should endeavour to be a better father to his son Gage than his track record as a pro wrestler. Instantly, an infuriated Goldberg vaulted across the security barrier ready to retaliate. This drew Sami Zayn into the spotlight who promptly attacked the World Heavyweight Champion, leading to a chaotic brawl. Rapid intervention from officials, security and RAW General Manager Adam Pearce was required to manage the situation. To conclude the segment, Triple H raised Goldberg’s hand high.
