The WWE’s principal content executive, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, appeared before a crowd of 16,092 spectators during the 2024 WWE Bad Blood extravaganza, registering it as the 60th sold-out event that year and marking the highest attendance ever for an arena show in the organization’s history.
In addition, he revealed an innovative component for the imminent WWE Crown Jewel live premium events on the horizon.
Come November 2, 2024, starting with the forthcoming event scheduled to take place at the Kingdom Arena situated in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the organization will run two matches where champions from both Raw and SmackDown’s men’s and women’s divisions will come head-to-head. Although their respective title reigns won’t be at stake, a newly created “Crown Jewel Championship” featuring an impressive 50k diamonds is to be brought into contention, signifying the superior world champion.
Effectively, the “clash of the titans” premise, familiar from previous Raw vs. SmackDown feuds demonstrated through events like Night of Champions, Bragging Rights, and Survivor Series, will be explored in an exciting new format.
Adding to this segment, Gunther aggressively challenged Bill Goldberg who observed from ringside. Gunther taunted Goldberg, questioning his proficiency as the father to his son Gage as well as his professionalism in the ring. In retaliation, Goldberg leapt over the security barrier to confront The Ring General. However, Sami Zayn disrupted the event by attacking the world heavyweight champion, causing a scuffle that required intervention from officials, security and Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. The segment concluded when Triple H raised Goldberg’s hand in solidarity.
