WWE fans were in for a treat at the Bad Blood 2024 opening with the spirited Hell in a Cell, 53rd match-up between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. The wrestling stars held nothing back with this ferocious showdown inside Satan’s structure.

The fight was punctuated with pulling all possible tricks out of the box, with McIntyre even taking a toolbox smash onto the head. This act painted McIntyre, the Scottish Warrior, in crimson as CM Punk’s bloodied face fell prey to a wrench strike, among other incidentals.

Notably, each wrestler fearlessly performed their finishers throughout the match: Punk defiantly countered Claymores, while McIntyre withstood the GTS, escaping Sharpshooter and the Anaconda Vise holds. Even crashing through tables or McIntyre’s brutal White Noise couldn’t subdue Punk, who persevered even after being flung onto the steel steps.

A uniquely memorable episode saw McIntyre scatter beads (the same from Punk’s bracelet) onto him, only to accidentally slip on them, landing back on the steel steps. This coincidently played a part in Punk’s triumph as he stuffed some of the beads into McIntyre’s mouth and seized the chance to execute a winning GTS.

Post-match, Punk had a tough time walking backstage on his own, collapsing occasionally and requiring medical attention as well as oxygen. Meanwhile, McIntyre, still in the ring, would also require assistance after some time.
