In a recent interview with Complex, the current WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes, candidly discussed his initial run with WWE and offered some speculative advice to his younger persona.

Key points from the interview include:

Discussing advice for his younger self, Rhodes said, “People always ask me what advice I would give my younger self. I wouldn’t actually give any advice. I firmly believe that I should make each and every mistake.”

Reflecting on his initial stint with WWE, Rhodes shared, “I discovered so much from being able to see what I was completely overlooking. I used to be envious and bitter against the ‘Dusty Kids’ (wrestlers trained in NXT by his father, like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Bayley among others). But, honestly, they were probably superior to me back then. I wasn’t doing a lot of things right at the time.”

Regarding his physical transformation during his hiatus, Rhodes stated, “Despite the perceptions, wrestling still is a heavyweight industry. When you’re sparring with the likes of Drew McIntyre or Roman Reigns, and you’re creating a believable combat scenario, being a heavyweight greatly benefits me. Staying around 220 [pounds] at 6 ‘1 is exactly what I should be aiming for, and I need to continue adding on to it healthily. Currently, in WWE we have access to nutritionists, dietitians…Moving forward, I plan to adopt a healthier approach to gaining weight.”

In other news, this Saturday’s WWE Bad Blood pay-per-view event will reportedly be available for viewing in Brazil on Netflix. Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics has reported that the event is visible in Brazil when accessed with a VPN.

Starting January 2025, WWE RAW will be accessible on Netflix internationally. However, in the United States, they will continue to air on Peacock.
