Welcome to a fresh installment of Question of the Day from eWrestlingNews!

On tonight’s agenda is the 5-year milestone show of AEW Dynamite featuring some thrilling clashes. Notably, Will Ospreay is defending his International Championship against Ricochet, and Bryan Danielson squares off against Kazuchika Okada with their respective titles at stake.

The big question for you today is “What do you anticipate from the 5th anniversary event of AEW Dynamite?”

We’d love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment below.

Here are my thoughts…

“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Juice Robinson

This feels like an uneventful everyday match, especially after witnessing some epic contests on Grand Slam and recent WWE events. Despite my fondness for both athletes, this seems like a mere filler event. Page, a past world champion, has the momentum while for some reason, Robinson appears to be the underdog. The match-up is puzzling, to say the least.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Serena Deeb

This duel, in my opinion, is heavily influenced by location as it’s happening in Pittsburgh, which is why Baker is part of it. As for Deeb’s participation, that’s a different story. It’s probably because they needed a credible opponent for Baker, and Deeb fits the bill despite her record as a mid to main event enhancement talent. If the event were elsewhere, Baker might not even be on the card.

AEW International Championship Match: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Ricochet

This face-off piques my curiosity. With some assistance from Don Callis, it’s plausible Ricochet could clinch the title, thereby solidifying his association with Callis’ camp. Potential involvement from Kyle Fletcher also adds intrigue to the match. Predicting a clear winner is tough given these elements, but either outcome presents interesting future circumstances.

Unification Bout: Bryan Danielson (AWD World Champion) vs. Kazuchika Okada (AWD Continental Champion)

I find this stipulation rather unfair and convoluted. The outcome I foresee is Bryan Danielson retaining his title by defeating Okada only after the stipulated 20 minutes. It’s an unsatisfying result that nullifies the entire premise of a championship unification. Honestly, if WWE had done something similar, AEW fans would’ve been all over them. Let’s be forthright and call out this hiccup.

While excited for the technical wrestling, I’m wary if the storyline ends up being as hasty as other wrestling narratives. I also fear the match could just reiterate their previous encounters, which would be somewhat disappointing. Hoping for a thrilling showcase that could contend for Match of the Year.
