On a recent episode of his podcast “1 Of A Kind”, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam opened up about his experiences with on-ring bullying, especially during a 1993 match against Rip Rogers.
Highlights from the podcast episode are shared below:
Discussing who he’d pick as his opponent if given a chance to go back to WWE’s golden era in the late 90s, Van Dam said, “Were there any wrestlers who I wished I could’ve had a substantial bout with? Or perhaps pursued a storyline? Owen [Hart] would have been an incredible choice.”
Regarding his 1993 ordeal with Rip Rogers, Van Dam narrated, “Absolutely. Rip Rogers bullied me during our match in 1993. He would turn to the spectators and call me ‘green’. He was resentful because he had to ‘put me over. I was indeed inexperienced. It’s true, I have experienced with bullying like everyone else. It’s part of our personal growth process. We must strive not to perpetuate similar actions.”
