El Phantasmo marked his return at the recent NJPW Destruction in Kobe event, speaking about his comeback in a post-show discussion. Phantasmo made his comeback by helping Hiroshi Tanahashi, Oleg Boltin, and Toru Yano to keep the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships.
A backstage video was shared by NJPW, where Phantasmo underscored the need to “let go of the past.” He remarked, “New Japan is my home. I yearn to be in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Jado, it took me a month to realize what was wrong and what needs to be done. We need to move past what’s behind us and focus on the future,” referring to his previous alignment with the Guerrillas of Destiny.
Phantasmo further set out his future aims in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, stating his aspirations to headline Ryogoku Hall, win major matches in Osaka and take part in significant bouts in the Tokyo Dome. He also expressed his desire to engage with fans through signing sessions and represent NJPW globally. He concluded, “I’ve been undervalued for a while, and I’m determined to shed that tag attached to my name.”
In other NJPW news, Ryohei Oiwa has joined TMDK officially, following the NJPW event in Kobe. Zack Sabre Jr, another member of the group, commented on Oiwa’s addition, stating “Oiwa was destined to be a part of TMDK. He’s not starting at the bottom. He’s the next NEVER [Openweight] Champion.” In light of TMDK’s future, Zack Sabre Jr forecasted his ascendency to the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and affirmed TMDK’s intent to elevate NJPW to unprecedented heights.
