The infamous ‘Brawl Out’ may have disrupted the AEW journey of ring icons like CM Punk, but it also paved a path for the arrival of Will Ospreay.
Following AEW All Out 2022, reported backstage unrest led to suspensions for Punk, The Elite among others. As the dust from this incident began to settle, the importance of the now vacant AEW World Title became the central talk on the subsequent episode of Dynamite.
“Winners want the ball when the game is on the line. The Ace wants the ball. I want the ball. I’m going to take the shot. This isn’t just the fourth quarter. This isn’t just winning time. This is time to be a legend,” said Jon Moxley, discussing the significance of the title.
Ospreay, in a recent conversation, named this pivotal promo by Moxley as his favorite moment from AEW Dynamite, marking it as the turning point that enticed him to sign up with All Elite Wrestling. He expressed admiration for Moxley’s ability to energize the roster and fans alike, post the backstage turbulence at All Out 2022.
Having put pen to paper with AEW last year, Ospreay now shines as a two-time International Champion and presently reigns as the holder of the world title.
