Recently, Darby Allin had a conversation with The New York Post where he opened up about several subjects. He spoke about his growth as an AEW performer, the progress of All Elite Wrestling, among other things.

Here are some notable points from his discussion:

Reflecting on his development as a performer in AEW, Allin said: “Being an original member of AEW with no prior television experience, it felt like being thrown in at the deep end. However, unlike many other original members who felt out of their depth on national TV, I felt right at home and thrived. I’m proud to have demonstrated that I can hold my own with individuals like Danielson, Moxley, Jericho, and others like Cody (Rhodes) and (CM) Punk.”

Talking about the growth of the company, he shared: “We’re now seeing more nuanced storytelling, which is natural given that we’re now in our fifth year of operation. Quite a few of us started as relative unknowns from the independent circuit. Initially, the focus was more on our unique moves and less on the characters we were trying to establish. But things have changed – more performers have gotten the opportunity to connect emotionally with the national TV audience and as a result, matches have more context and aren’t just a cool seeing.”
