In the latest installment of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Eric Bischoff voiced his apprehensions about Nigel McGuinness continuing his wrestling career. These concerns arose following McGuinness’s AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2024 showdown with Bryan Danielson, the AEW World Champion, held on September 25.

Here are some key points from the podcast:

Speaking about Nigel McGuinness, Bischoff said: “I envision this as a one-time event for Nigel, closing his in-ring performance chapter. He’s incredibly talented as a color commentator. It’d be unfortunate if we were to lose him in that role just to see him inside the ring again. This is not to undermine his in-ring prowess or potential contribution.”

Discussing McGuinness potentially having a successful career as a color commentator, Bischoff added: “I see his future in commentary. In my opinion, based on what I appreciate in color commentary, he is one of the top ones currently. If I were to establish a wrestling company tomorrow, Nigel would be one of my first choices for color commentary given his skills.”
