World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is currently dealing with a fascinating legal challenge presented by Leland Owens.
Court documents that Pwinsider was able to acquire, reveal that a lawsuit has been lodged against WWE, Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon, this week. The legal proceedings were established in the Eastern District of Washington, U.S. District Court.
Owens alleges that he is owed unpaid compensation by WWE for his creative contributions which were used but not accounted for.
In the lawsuit, Owens states that Linda’s “role as a senator” was utilized to obscure the proposition of “a 0,000 check.” It should be noted, though, that despite two unsuccessful attempts to do so, Linda McMahon has never actually garnered an elected seat or served as a senator.
Owens also asserts “Vince and Stephanie masqueraded as agents with the sole purpose of expropriating my creative ideas.”
According to Owens, he had interactions with popular wrestling personalities Sasha Banks and Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson), referring to them by their actual names.
However, these claims made by Owens, despite being bold, could be swiftly dismissed as they’re said to lack solid evidence. Consequently, there is a high probability that the case won’t progress much further in the courtroom.
