In a thrilling tag team battle during this week’s WWE SmackDown, Queen of the Ring and WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax partnered with Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton, going against Bayley and Naomi. The duel was laced with a two-pronged condition.
As specified in mutual agreements last week, the stakes were high – in case Bayley or Naomi lost, they would need to vacate their spots in the SmackDown lineup. Conversely, should either of them emerge triumphant, the one who made the winning pin would be granted a title opportunity for the WWE Women’s Championship.
Interestingly, the match was defined by chaos and confusion; the referee, Jessika Carr, seemingly unable to track the legal participants in the match, even counted a double pinfall, which made no practical sense. The confusion carried on till the end when both Bayley and Naomi put Jax down with a roll-up pinning combo.
Although the roll-out was clumsy, with Naomi’s feet going beneath the ropes (which was conveniently overlooked), the pinfall was accepted, and the match was formally awarded to the Bayley-Naomi team – but without any clear indication of the rightful number 1 contender for the title.
Wait…what?!

In a subsequent backstage segment, Bayley and Naomi were seen engaging with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Based on fairness, Aldis booked a match between the two for the following week to determine the rightful candidate for the title shot.
