Rikishi has provided additional clarity on his recent remarks concerning Jey Uso’s potential future with WWE.
On the most recent episode of his “Off The Top” podcast, the celebrated WWE Hall of Famer expressed his thoughts about his son’s talent, saying:
“Such is this kid’s prowess, WWE isn’t the sole platform. He certainly has the choice to transition to AEW if he wishes to script his own destiny, potentially earning more than WWE currently pays him. I hope they make amends and do justice to The Yeet Man.”
Rikishi has since clarified his comments, suggesting that some fans misconstrued his statements.
Here are a few notable excerpts from the podcast:
In regard to criticism of his WWE remarks: “I’m at a loss for words. When did you last witness such a scenario? I am a fan now. I don’t wish to make comments anymore because whenever I say something, it creates headlines, and then there’s a skewing of my words, like I’m in opposition with WWE. I’m certainly not against WWE. Why would I be against WWE?”
About his comments on Jey Uso: “If you’re going to discuss what I said, kindly ensure a careful translation, do not twist my words. I’m going to reiterate this, WWE is the home of The Dynasty, no two ways about it. We’re not going anywhere, we have no plans to relocate. The past, present, and future – Let’s YEET to that.”
