Ahead of the recent AEW All In: London 2024 pay-per-view event, past AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland was a guest on The Rich Eisen Show’s T.J. Jefferson segment. During the discussion, Strickland touched upon an array of topics, from his original signing with AEW to his aspirations to stand out and further key points.
Here are some standout excerpts from the podcast session:
When addressed about his initial deal with AEW, Strickland had said: “Two things mattered – opportunity and time. There’s so much potential here, like reward and opportunity – that’s all I’ve ever sought. That’s the only thing I’ve ever received, just the chance to prove myself, you see? I’ll gladly start from the scratch, doesn’t matter to me. Put me in battle royals, even if I lose every time, I don’t care. Just offer me the chance to standout.”
Regarding his desire to get the chance to rise and shine, he expressed: “Grant me the chance to say, ‘Hey, can I have a minute of TV time right here at this very moment?’ ‘Definitely.’ ‘Okay, I am going to make this count.’ That’s something you can’t just get anywhere else.”
