Earlier this year, WWE held WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The organization also officially confirmed that WrestleMania 41, scheduled for 2025, would happen at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 19 and 20.
Additionally, a subsequent WrestleMania event has been announced to take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
During a noteworthy Twitter Q&A session, Pennsylvania’s Governor, Josh Shapiro, informed that Philadelphia had been chosen to host WrestleMania 42 in 2026. The Governor conveyed this while talking about the various events the city has planned as part of the celebrations for America’s 250th Anniversary in 2026.
However, according to Pwinsider, WWE has not discussed this internally. A credible source involved in 2026’s event planning disclosed that the final location for WrestleMania 42 hasn’t been decided yet.
Certain people have questioned whether Shapiro meant to mention WWE as a whole instead of specifically WrestleMania, but it’s unclear whether this was the case.
In relation to the rumors surrounding WrestleMania 42 in Philadelphia, a source stipulated to WrestleVotes that WWE has not officially provided any announcements yet.
WWE’s past partnership with Philadelphia for WrestleMania 40 was positively received, and despite the unpredictable weather, the city could be a potential repeated location for hosting.
Apparently, the venue for WrestleMania 42 was chosen months ago and wasn’t an option for Minneapolis after WrestleMania 41 was moved.
An alternative argument suggests that the Governor might have used “WrestleMania” as a generic reference for a significant WWE pay-per-view event, rather than specifically meaning WrestleMania.
