Wrestling legend, Rey Mysterio, remarked that he never pictured his son, Dominik, taking up the role of a villainous character or ‘heel’ in the wrestling ring, expressing his amazement at how well he’s adapted to this unique character.
In an interview with Sam Rosenberg, the renowned Mr. 619 expressed his observations on his son’s successful wrestling journey as part of The Judgment Day team. He shared,
“I had always visualized in my mind that he would exceed my achievements. The way how he would do it wasn’t clear, yet I was certain he was going to bring something distinct to the game. I never imagined him playing the villain. However, my wife had a contrary perspective. Despite our differing views, she foresaw him excelling in the ‘bad guy’ role. It’s often said that mothers have a better understanding of their children, and I guess this held true in our case. My wife persistently asserted that she saw him portraying the villain. Of course, we had no idea of the extent,” Mysterio shared.
Moreover, Rey Mysterio alluded to Dominik’s evolution into an independent character in the wrestling sphere, expressing his delight towards this development, “His transformation into his unique persona has pleasantly surprised me. To be honest, I don’t believe he would have achieved more if I had stuck around. I’m pleased that I decided to let him go, and he’s now carving his own path,” he continued.
