In a latest conversation with “WFAA,” Darby Allin disclosed that wrestling icon Sting was recently seen backstage at AEW Collision TV tapings.
Allin mentioned, “‘Absolutely. He’s been present backstage during a few Collisions. I keep advising him, let’s engage in a mini-golf contest. You see, just like his son, I’m currently assisting in his training in wrestling, and I took his son for a mini-golf game, where I emerged victorious. Consequently, I called Sting out, wondering whether losing to Darby Allen in mini-golf is a family characteristic? We’ll soon see. He upholds that he’s a mini-golf champion, yet he hasn’t showed up on the golf field as yet.”
According to Fightful Select, Sting was sighted backstage during several recent Collision and ROH TV tapings in Arlington, Texas, where he resides.
Sting reunited with friends and apparently left Darby stunned by attending one of the Collision shows in which Allin participated.
Notwithstanding Sting’s retirement announcement after the AEW Revolution 2024, the wrestling outfit still acknowledges him as part of the roster. Yet, Sting has not actively collaborated with the company post this event.
Sources indicate that Sting has continued to stay connected with Darby but has mostly receded from the public eye, barring the odd appearances at conventions or events.
Reacting to the announcement of AEW: All In Texas 2025, Sting noted that it is “just down the road” and expressed, “I’ll observe from ‘somewhere.'”
