During a recent episode of “The Snake Pit” podcast, WWE Hall of Fame legend Jake Roberts recounted interactions with Dynamite Kid during their time in Stampede Wrestling.
Below are a few of the most memorable moments from the podcast episode:
Discussing Dynamite Kid, Roberts said, “He was truly extraordinary, honestly like a breath of fresh air. His moves were unique, something you’d never seen before. In fact, when I left Calgary, I attempted to convince Bill Watts to hire him. Watts questioned his size and I informed him. He in disbelief said, ‘Are you fking serious?’ I told him, ‘I’m undoubtedly serious, this guy is undeniable money.’ Yet Watts disregarded it.”
Regarding his direct experiences with Dynamite Kid, Roberts mentioned, “He was decent to me. In fact, his apartment was situated above mine.”
When asked about his interactions with Hercules Ayala, Roberts remarked, “I indeed remember him. Hercules Ayala also graced the Mid-South. He went there after leaving Calgary. He had a wealth of experience and knew his way around in the ring.”
