In a recent match with Syuri at STARDOM 5STAR Grand Prix 2024 night four event, Anna Jay admitted to being intensely nervous.
In a discussion held after the show, the AEW athlete confessed, “I was incredibly anxious leading up to this match. After I got through my first match and tasted victory, the second one, against Starlight Kid… I didn’t win, but I still felt confident. But this time, I was absolutely terrified.”
Despite the fear, Jay pushed through and said, “But I did it. I’m showing that I belong here, that I have earned my spot. Wrestling against Syuri was incredible, and I hope for a rematch, even if it leaves me sore for days on end. I’m loving the experience. Yes, I’m exhausted, and sore, but I want to persist. Thank you.”
Currently, Jay’s Grand Prix record stands at 1-3. She has defeated Saori Anou but lost to Syuri and Starlight Kid.
Tony Schiavone, AEW’s color commentator, expressed his excitement over Bron Breakker’s victory over Sami Zayn, winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2024.
On a recent episode of his “What Happened When” podcast, Schiavone spoke highly of Breakker noting,
“I’m genuinely thrilled for him. I first met him backstage at an event back when State Farm Arena was still Philips Arena in Atlanta. It’s been great getting to know him.”
Schiavone added, “I have a lot of respect for Rick and Scott, not only for their skill and talent but also for the amusing pranks they’ve pulled. I’m happy for them and for the young wrestler. Although I’ve never seen him in action, I trust that his winning the IC title means WWE sees a lot of potential in him.”
