In a recent stint on the “talkSPORT” podcast, Bryan Danielson gave some insight into his WWE SummerSlam 2013 duel with John Cena, dubbing it as his most favored event in WWE history until then.
Danielson managed to bag the WWE Championship title from Cena during this event but was soon bereft of the title as Randy Orton exercised his Money In The Bank briefcase rights and usurped the title.
Here are some key insights from the podcast:
While discussing his 2013 SummerSlam match with John Cena, Bryan said, “Some people are fans, others are detractors, but the alternating reactions of the crowd were intriguing. At that juncture, it was the most unforgettable match I had participated in WWE. The pedigree and title loss that followed barely two minutes later might have been a hard pill to swallow, but it was still an iconic moment in my career.”
When asked about Cena’s retirement proclamation, he responded, “I haven’t had a chance to have a conversation with him about it primarily because I have a dislike for phones. I do have friends but I’m notorious for ignoring text messages. As we speak, I have over 3800 unread texts.”
