In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared some insights about The Bloodline’s plan for the upcoming WWE Tag Team Championships. It has been mentioned that the team’s defence strategy will involve selecting two wrestlers of Solo [Sikoa’s] choice for the title defence. The concept has not yet been explained directly on WWE TV, but it’s believed to be a strategy to work around the injury of Jacob Fatu. Meltzer was quoted saying,
“So, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa can defend them, Jacob Fatu when he comes back can defend them. This plan was never elaborated on the TV, but this is how WWE rationalizes it. All the ongoing events with The Bloodline were intended to be this way.”
As we’ve mentioned previously, Jacob Fatu was seen to be in distress after his stunt at WWE SummerSlam 2024 earlier this month. He was seen sporting a medical boot the next day.
Moreover, it came to light that WWE intends to keep Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns from coming into contact on live television. On this, Meltzer commented, “In essence, they’re deliberately trying to steer Jacob Fatu clear of Roman Reigns. They want everyone else to sell for Roman Reigns and they want to keep Jacob Fatu’s unique appeal intact by not having him bounce off Roman Reigns.”
Lastly, it was revealed that while Roman reigns, there would be a temporary absence of Fatu until the time is right for the duo to wrestle against each other.
