Former WWE star and current Hall of Famer, Glenn Jacobs, has expressed no interest in making a bid for the U.S. Presidency. Satisfied with his present political role, he has set aside ambitions of climbing any higher within the political hierarchy.
Currently positioned as the Mayor of Knox County, Jacobs although a self-proclaimed Libertarian, aligns with the Republican party and previously supported Donald Trump in his presidential race.
During a conversation on the show “Maintaining With Tyrus”, he shared his thoughts on possibly holding an office in Washington DC. He expressed,
“I have no desire to go to Washington DC. I think that there’s a lot of things that can be done at the local and state level, especially at the state level.”
“It really is a swamp. Good people go in, and they get frustrated because they can’t change, or in some cases, they just throw up their hands and leave, or sometimes they unfortunately become part of the machine because that’s the only way to survive.”
Jacobs’ political journey as a mayor wasn’t entirely unblemished. He was accused of issuing threats to an official to cover up a misuse of funds in 2022.
Allegedly, Jacobs had employed public park staff to maintain the gardens of his private home. Later, he refuted these claims describing the investigation as a plot meant to tarnish his reputation.
