Adam Pearce, known by some for his role as “Postman Pearce” in a segment of Firefly Fun House years previously, was recently a guest on the “Insight With Chris Van Vliet” podcast to discuss that experience and more.
Highlights from the podcast have been shared below:
When initially introduced to the Firefly Fun House segment concept, Pearce shares his immediate reaction: “Upon reading [the Postman role], my first thought was, ‘This is going to be absolutely hilarious.” He further adds that what made the process enjoyable was the freedom allowed in the creative process, irrespective of the script in place. He states, “There was a lot of room for creativity. The extent of how bizarre or Bray Wyatt-esque it could be was entirely up to us.”
While filming the segment, Pearce recounts: “I still recall saying, ‘Look, naturally there is a specific point we have to communicate, but truthfully, I just want to appreciate the uniqueness of this location.’ I wanted to express my shock by saying ‘What the…?’ All this can be seen in the segment where I enter the room and react with ‘What the…?’ before he begins his dialogue. It was a fun experience.”
In other news, Fenway Park recently honoured Kevin Sullivan, who was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox. The tribute displayed on the scoreboard read,
“In Loving Memory of Kevin Sullivan.
You will be dearly missed.
With Love,
Red Sox Nation”
