In a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Cody Rhodes contemplated the idea of him transforming into a villainous character in the wrestling world.
Rhodes managed to successfully defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Solo Sikoa in the recent WWE SummerSlam 2024.
Here are a few notable extracts from the said podcast:
On the conjecture surrounding his imminent turn, Rhodes stated, “There seems to be a widespread belief that underneath it all, ‘This chap isn’t a hero, he’s a villain’. I presume people are considering the possibilities that might arise from such a transformation.”
On his reluctance to fully embrace being a villain, Rhodes said, “In my perception, I am not quite certain about how the younger audience will receive it. You want to be their idol, their hero, but you cannot merely declare yourself as one, you have to genuinely embody that role.”
