Recently, wrestling superstar GUNTHER was a guest on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast where he revealed a number of things, discussing his time in the WWE and sharing thoughts on who he has the best on-screen synergy with.
When asked about his chemistry with other wrestlers, he candidly shared, “Ilja [Dragunov]. There are several blokes that I’ve immediately clicked with, each bringing out a different side in me. But I would say, in WWE, Sheamus is the one with whom you must lock horns first because he’s just different. He embraces grit and likes to go hard in the ring. He simply loves the real fight. As long as it doesn’t cross lines, it’s all good.”
Speaking of his rivalries with Dragunov, he added, “When it comes to Dragunov, I was slightly ahead in terms of career progression. We squared off against each other, and in a way, he was somewhat of an apprentice that I guided. Therefore, the dynamic we share is unique.”
WWE’s Jey Uso was also a part of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, discussing how he coped with being an active part of The Bloodline, especially during the pandemic.
Reflecting the group’s accomplishments, Uso expressed, “I believe we took wrestling to a higher level during the COVID era, the Thunderdome era, setting ourselves apart. We had to rely more on acting and being emotive rather than just performing moves as there were no audiences. Our focus was to play strategically to the camera, becoming like live actors on-screen.”
Commenting on the creative direction of the group, he said, “Every week, we found ourselves in a room with Hunter, the Wise Man and Roman brainstorming. Figuring out what we did last week and what we needed to do next week. Despite not having a clear plan, every time we felt we were hitting a plateau, something naturally happened on screen and the story progressed.”
