Recently on his “83 Weeks” podcast, WWE Hall of Fame member Eric Bischoff talked about various topics. This includes the WCW Road Wild pay-per-view events, his collaboration with Dennis Rodman, and other interesting subjects. Some highlights from the podcast are given below:
When asked about the rumors regarding Dennis Rodman’s dissatisfaction with his pay and WCW’s discontent with his performances in the ring, he clarified, “I’ve never heard that narrative before. There was no animosity between Dennis Rodman and me or anyone in the WCW. There was an accounting issue that needed to be resolved. Once resolved, there was no animosity, and this was not a make-good issue. No one was disappointed at his previous performances. This narrative seems to be made up.”
Regarding his experience working with ICP in WCW, he shared, “I enjoyed working with those guys, despite their seemingly different branding and audience. They had a unique charm that was quite entertaining and interesting. Their ability to hold the loyalty of their audience impressed me. Even though their audience is not as big as KISS, they are definitely as loyal, if not more.”
On being asked if he would have made any changes to the Road Wild PPV at Sturgis, he stated, “I would have possibly moved it indoors due to the unpredictable weather conditions. The concept of Sturgis was good both then and now, as it exposes your product to a newer audience and potential advertisers. The only thing I probably would have changed is the implementation.”
