The Gates of Agony team, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona, have expressed their interest in the AEW & ROH Tag Team Championships.
Kaun voiced his aspirations for the titles during an interview on the “WrestleMobs” podcast. He stated,
“Toa and I are aiming for those tag titles – both the Ring of Honor and AEW championships. From what I can tell, there hasn’t been much defence of these titles recently, so why not throw us into the mix? I’m more than ready to take on the challenge head on. It’s why we push ourselves to train and wrestle each week, the goal we’ve been striving for.”
Further, he added, “Toa and I had a long talk when we first met, and we immediately connected. Our mindsets matched – dedication, hard work, and the belief that it pays off. When we’re not in the thick of things, we’re most likely pushing our limits with twice-a-day workouts. My daily schedule involves morning physical training followed by evening wrestling drills. We’re always primed for opportunities and, once we get them, we make every single one count. Going by the feedback and praises that we receive on our socials, the fans echo this sentiment.”
Moving over to CMLL Grand Prix, wrestler Claudio Castagnoli revealed his involvement, stating his intention to showcase his strong command over the lucha libre style even though he “doesn’t speak Spanish.”
“I’m returning to CMLL for the Grand Prix to represent Team World, AEW, Switzerland, and the Blackpool Combat Club. To be honest, the past year had its challenging moments, times when I doubted myself. But a visit to the iconic Arena México transformed my perspective, giving me a new prove of clarity.”
He continued, “Although I don’t speak Spanish, I certainly speak lucha libre, and I’m confident about doing it better than anyone else. I look forward to proving this at the upcoming Grand Prix. I am coming prepared.”
The CMLL Grand Prix is scheduled for August 23rd with Arena Mexico as its venue.
