The wrestling duo known as The Gates of Agony, comprising Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona, have their sights set on the AEW and ROH Tag Team Championships.
In a recent interview on the “WrestleMobs” podcast, Kaun spoke about his ambition to acquire the championship belts. He said,
“Toa and I are determined to get those tag belts. Both of them. The Ring of Honor and AEW titles. I don’t know if they’ve been defending these tag titles actively, so why not give us a shot? I’m ready to take on the challenge. We aim to wrestle every week. We strive for this. This is what we put all our hard work in for.”
On their partnership, he further added, “Toa and I share the same ideology, hard work does pay off. We are not the ones to sit idle, we double the time on training. I do my workouts twice a day, hence am prepared for any opportunity that comes my way. The fans on Twitter too recognize our potential and wonder why we’re not on TV regularly. They appreciate our performance every time.”
Meanwhile, Claudio Castagnoli is ready to participate in the CMLL Grand Prix and is optimistic about proving his expertise in “lucha libre.” He said,
“This year, I’ll be returning to CMLL for the Grand Prix as a representative of Team World, AEW, Switzerland, and the Blackpool Combat Club. Last year wasn’t my best, I’ve had my share of doubts and uncertainty. But when I first visited the cathedral [Arena México], I had an epiphany. Now, even though I may not be fluent in Spanish, I do speak lucha libre, and aim to do it better than anyone else. My intent is to prove this at the Grand Prix. Ready yourself for elimination.”
The much-anticipated CMLL Grand Prix is set to happen on August 23rd at Arena Mexico.
