In a recent episode of the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast, WWE’s Bill Goldberg, a celebrated Hall of Famer, spoke about a painful injury he sustained during his latest wrestling stint with WWE.
Viewers can catch some of his interview highlights in the abridged version of the podcast provided below:
When reflecting on the damage he suffered during his bout with Brock Lesnar, he revealed, “The opening night, I went back to face Brock, I tore my rotator cuff, but I chose not to tell anybody. I managed to make adjustments and work around it all the time, but there were certain instances when I couldn’t. For five or six years, I had trouble lifting my arm. But I kept silent because of the potential implications had I made it public. The idea of having surgery and then being called on by Vince was too daunting.”
He further discussed his determination to persevere through his physical ailments, “It was incredibly challenging, because along with aging, you’re trying to maintain the image of this 300-pound force that’s tough as nails, when in reality, you’re dealing with a torn rotator cuff and a damaged labrum.”
