At WWE SummerSlam 2024 last night, Dominik Mysterio played a crucial part in helping Liv Morgan protect her WWE Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley.
In the final moments of the match, Morgan introduced a steel chair into the ring; however, Ripley quickly disposed of it. As Ripley tried to use the chair, Dominik stepped in to avoid a disqualification, which gave Morgan the opportunity to deliver an Oblivion, but Ripley resisted.
While the referee’s attention was on Dominik, Morgan got another chance to use the chair to execute a secondary Oblivion, thereby clinching a win.
Surprisingly, Dominik planted a kiss on Morgan after the match, declaring that he had deceived Ripley. Dominik then exited the ring with Morgan, leaving a solitary Ripley behind.
Rey Mysterio, Dominik’s father and a WWE Hall of Famer, went on Instagram to express his views on the deception. He pointed out that his son excels at betraying those who are most dear to him.
Rey stated, “He’s a master at what he does, probably the best I’ve ever known & seen with my own 2 eyes. “Turning his back on the ones that care most” #toldyouso”
