On a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Jeff Hardy discussed his bout with Scott “Razor Ramon” Hall, which took place on the June 6th, 1994 RAW show. At that time, Hardy was only 16 years old.
The podcast featured numerous highlights which can be found below:
Discussing his memories of the match, Hardy said, “Whenever I recall that bout, it’s apparent to me that the ring was really rigid back then. I was merely a 185-190 pounds teenager and that ring was incredibly hard. We’d never been in such a ring before and there was a bit of stiffness from Scott. I was only 16 and honestly, I was petrified. It was a harsh experience. I remember having this overwhelming feeling when the match ended – I never wanted to go through that again. But ironically, the very next night, I went up against Sean, the 123 Kid, and it reverse-reversed my feelings. It made wrestling fun for me again.”
Furthermore, Hardy shared how a match more recently with Darby Allin rekindled his love for wrestling, saying, “Coincidently, similar feelings were evoked the second night I wrestled Darby Allin. I walked into work ready to request my release and head back to the independent circuit to rekindle my love for the craft. After that match with Darby Allin, though, I was rejuvenated. It reminded me why this is fun for me and why I am still deeply in love with it.”
