In a recent episode of his popular “My World” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett shared his insight on multiple subjects, like Shawn Michaels’ role as WWE NXT’s frontman, the famous Curtain Call incident featuring Kevin Nash and Scott Hall that caused a stir at Madison Square Garden, among other topics.

Here are some key points from the podcast:

Talking about Michaels’ experience at WWE NXT, Jarrett said, “The aspects I can understand are the ‘valleys’ — the downturns, the lessons learned. Whatever you choose to call them, they have made Shawn the person he has become. He is able to share his life experiences with young talent and tell them, ‘Look, I’m not spouting nonsense. Here’s an example from a situation I faced in 1988 in Birmingham, Alabama when someone tried to sell their territory. Don’t make the same mistakes I did.’ He essentially uses his past ‘failures’ to empower others.”

On the matter of the Curtain Call incident, Jarrett responded with, “I’ve always felt that people read too much into it, claiming ‘disrespect for the business.’ But these guys were leaving. It actually paved the way for something entirely new. Having had the background in wrestling and being around the likes of Eddie Crawford, Snowman, WCCW, Puerto Rico, and Tennessee Stories helped me to understand these aspects. To me, the wrestling super-fans perceived the incident far more provocatively than the average paying audience did. It generated a lot of conversation, but eventually, it was time to ‘move on.’ I believe the repercussions from the incident lasted until the next Garden Show only because of certain circumstances. However, the fans had already moved on.”
