The WWE SummerSlam 2024 event this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio, will be emceed by The Miz, according to various sources.
On a recent episode of the podcast “The Rich Eisen Show”, the WWE star The Miz had an in-depth discussion about the significant influence Pat McAfee has had on the WWE format.
McAfee joined the WWE community in 2018, following his involvement in an array of matches in WWE NXT. He initially played the role of a color commentator on SmackDown, collaborating with Michael Cole. After a short recess from the organization to take part in ESPN’s ‘College Gameday’, McAfee has been steadily making appearances on RAW, teaming up with Cole.
Speaking about McAfee’s impact on WWE, The Miz said, “He’s been quite an asset to WWE. He comes in brimming with energy. Despite his otherwise busy schedule, McAfee jumps onto a flight, arrives and directly gets onto our show – a feat not as simple as it may sound. Many may say, ‘Oh, color commentary, it’s not difficult at all,’ but it indeed is. The mentality needed for it is quite different. He has done a commendable job at storytelling, something that we focus a lot on in our work. The manner in which he communicates our narratives to our viewers is unique. He’s been excelling at his job.”
The WWE star also added, “Pat doesn’t spend too much time on groundwork. Most of the times, he comes in close to the show timings and hits the ground running. I am unsure if he uses his time on the private jet or elsewhere to prepare. He just takes the plunge and nails it.”
