We’re back with yet another edition of eWrestlingNews’ Daily Query! Keeping the focus on the theme of predictions and discussions related to WWE SummerSlam 2024, let’s talk about the potential action in the Women’s Championship match.
The pivotal threat that could lead to a title change is the possible scenario where Tiffany Stratton decides to use her Money in the Bank briefcase advantage. With Bayley scheduled to face the most formidable woman in the entire division, it’s undoubtedly going to take a toll on her.
The crux of today’s question is, “Should Tiffany Stratton seize this opportunity to cash in her Money in the Bank contract? If so, who should she win the title from?” Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
Now my two cents…
Until very recently, I was of the belief that a title win for Stratton was almost certain. All indications, in my eyes, were pointing towards a scenario where Stratton would take the title from Bayley, thereby paving the way for Charlotte Flair to make a comeback and claim the title from her, hence setting the stage for a great match at WrestleMania 41 against Jade Cargill.
However, a spanner was thrown in the works when Bayley destroyed Stratton’s MITB briefcase just a fortnight ago. Now, with Nia Jax vowing to get Stratton a new briefcase that suits her to a T, we can expect to see a new one, perhaps styled in a Barbie-esque manner. To truly market this new accessory, WWE must ensure it is seen and desired by the audience. An immediate cash-in by Stratton might hinder this. With or without a win, once Stratton makes use of her title opportunity, the briefcase ceases to serve a purpose.
This has made me reevaluate my earlier speculations. I believe Stratton will delay her title shot for at least a month or longer. In the interim, Bayley might scrape through a win, or as I predict, Jax could surprise us by becoming the new champion.
If this happens, my theories will have to be revised. Flair might then move on to defeat Jax, Stratton could cash in on Flair, and Flair would claim the title back from Stratton. This scenario could play out sometime between now and Royal Rumble, unless WWE is actually planning a match between Stratton and Flair at WrestleMania with Jade Cargill pitted against Bianca Belair in another bout.
Regardless of the sequence of events (pardon the pun), my outlook has changed and I am not anticipating an immediate cash-in by Stratton.
