During the AEW All In pay-per-view event last year, CM Punk was caught in an offstage quarrel with Jack Perry. The videography of the spat was later aired on the episode of Dynamite dated April 10th, serving as a subplot to the ongoing storyline involving The Young Bucks and FTR.

In the latest instalment of the “SI Media Podcast,” Punk was asked for his response on discovering that the video was scheduled for broadcast. He responded,

“It’s akin to….having to wrestle Drew McIntyre, right? This is a toxic individual I want no association with. We’re in the fight industry. It’s all about harsh words and insults. Much like the UFC disputes that ensue in heated press conferences and become personal. I don’t particularly enjoy that vibe, but the reward is stepping into the ring and landing punches, chipping teeth and making Drew cry and enacting whatever else I fantasize doing to him.”.

He went on to add, “It felt fairly distasteful, but then I thought, broadcast of that footage neither benefits them nor damages me, so, whatever. It’s fairly phenomenal being a major draw in two distinct companies. Thanks, guys.”.
