Kurt Angle, esteemed WWE Hall of Famer, has recently joined the ranks of those cheerleading for Joe Hendry, a current hotshot star in TNA Wrestling.
Hendry, a notable Scottish wrestling figure, is enjoying quite the fan following within TNA Wrestling and WWE NXT. This successful wrestling personality has played a crucial role in uniting the fandom of the two prominent wrestling bodies.
On a fresh episode of “The Kurt Angle Show” podcast, Angle categorically expressed his support for the ex-TNA Digital Media Champion, asserting,
“[Laughs out loud] I firmly stand beside Joe Hendry. I’ve had the pleasure of competing against him in the UK on the WCPW platform. He’s undoubtedly talented! Not just that, he created a unique personality where he would compose songs about his opponents. Some were about me, and I remember thinking, ‘Whoa! This man is destined for WWE.’ Honestly, he outshone Elias by miles.
“He was remarkably imaginative in narrating tales about his opponents week on week by weaving them into his songs – playing guitar and singing. His impressive skills weren’t limited to singing; he was equally exceptional inside the ring. So, I knew he’s a star in the making.
“I’m genuinely surprised that his career hasn’t catapulted further by now. He’s thoroughly deserving of being part of the NXT/TNA amalgamation. The lad is genuinely multi-talented.”
In the same podcast session, Kurt Angle also dwelled on the progressive crossover between WWE and TNA, expressing total support for the unification. In his words,
“I’m thrilled to see the merge. For long now, TNA was considered a rival. I’m not sure if it ever was. The real competition was the Monday Night War. When I was at TNA, we weren’t even remotely close to WWE’s ratings, but we did fare decently well for such a small company, touching nearly two million viewers every week. Although we never officially rivaled WWE, it’s nice to see the acknowledgement now. This collaboration with other entities, especially TNA, I feel, is a wonderful initiative.”
