Several weeks ago, Mariah May commenced an attack on Toni Storm following her victory in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament. This attack has now set up a match for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the All In 2024 event in London.
During a recent discussion with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, May shared her thoughts. She pointed out that everyone else except Toni Storm anticipated the attack.
Here are some excerpts from the podcast:
Mariah May on her rise in the AEW division:
“I’m extremely thankful. Our locker room is filled with incredible talent, but I pride myself on being the smartest among them. I was savvy enough to ally myself with the world champion, who is clearly unravelling. I ensured she fell for me emotionally and then used it against her.”
Mariah May on Toni Storm’s ignorance of what was happening:
“Really, you didn’t see it coming? From the moment I came in, it was clear what I was after. But Toni didn’t get it. Even now, she seems clueless.”
In other news, Brody King expressed that his feud with Darby Allin isn’t ending soon. While attending the San Diego Comic-Con with Ringside Collectibles, he shared,
“My conflict with Darby Allin won’t end until one of us is gone. He has a phrase tattooed on his chest, ‘Nothing’s over til you’re underground’, and I feel like this dispute will always be there. If I can put him six feet under, it’ll mean more than a title. In fact, I have his headstone inked on my leg.”
