Many were taken aback, including Jim Ross, when Rena Mero, more commonly known as Sable, made an appearance on an episode of WCW Monday Nitro in 1999.

Mero made an unexpected appearance on the Nitro episode dated June 14, 1999, shortly after severing ties with WWF and initiating a lawsuit worth 0 million against her former organizing company.

During a recent episode of his podcast, “Grilling JR,” Ross reflected on his reactions upon seeing one of WWF’s most popular faces on Nitro. He commented,

“Indeed, it was a shocker. For many of the guys there, it was a delightful surprise, as she is undeniably stunning. She brought a certain radiance on-screen and triggered numerous inquiries that were not immediately answerable or straightforward. However, at a certain point, she was as trending as anyone in the WWE, in terms of character. She simply had that aura. She was a hit, and the fans adored her. So, it was unexpected to spot her there.”

Regardless of her appearance, Mero did not finalize a deal with WCW. In the year 2003, after settling her lawsuit with the company amicably outside of court, she made a comeback to WWE.

Following her departure from WWE in 2004, Mero went on to work with NJPW alongside her husband, Brock Lesnar. In 2007, she decided to discontinue her affiliation with the company.
