WWE personalities Triple H and Nick Khan recently held discussions with London Mayor Sadiq Khan about the potential of hosting a future WrestleMania event in the city. The city confirmed the meeting in a recent statement, with the intention of bringing WWE’s flagship event, WrestleMania, to the capital city of the UK.
This is the official statement: “Today, wrestling professionals Paul “Triple H” Levesque and WWE President Nick Khan met with the Mayor of London at City Hall. The meeting revolved around the mutual goal of hosting a WrestleMania event in London.”
The statement also emphasized London’s status as the global hub for major sports events, indicating the economic benefits the city stands to gain in the process. The Mayor previously announced in April his plans to introduce more international sporting events to London.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It is my pleasure to have met with these two significant figures in the wrestling industry. We’re considering the potential of making London the first international host for WrestleMania.”
“We want to strengthen London’s reputation as the international capital of sports and work towards building a better city for everyone,” he added.
Nick Khan, the WWE President, also shared his thoughts, expressing his support for the Mayor’s vision to position London as the sports and entertainment capital of Europe. He highlighted the economic impact of WrestleMania on its host cities and the need for further discussions about bringing a WWE event to London.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque reflected on the long-standing successful relationship between WWE and London. He mentioned their international events held in countries like Australia, France, Scotland, Saudi Arabia and Canada and the excitement among London’s authorities to continue the positive trajectory.
