Cody Rhodes has expressed his contentment with how the events leading up to WrestleMania 40 unfolded. He revealed his thoughts during a recent interview with DDP. Rhodes touched on his confrontations with WWE staples The Rock and Roman Reigns during the interview.
In his words, “I am certain that whatever direction we chose to take, we would have made it work. However, if I were to relive the entire process, I wouldn’t want a single thing to be different. There was more to the story than a simple comeback followed by winning the WWE Championship. There were necessary milestones to reach, essential individuals to meet in the ring, and influential people to associate myself with.”
Rhodes added further, “WWE’s audience has always been wonderful. I have nothing but commendation for the fans. Their reception towards me wasn’t guaranteed but they chose to respond in the positive. There can be matches fixations or TV timings that attempt to guide the audience’s views. But, the audience could’ve completely shunned me. With my history of starting my own company and my not-so-pleasant parting with WWE, they could’ve handled it differently, but they didn’t. When asked why fans continue to support me, my response was simple. I believe they relate to my genuine backstory. In the world of wrestling, reality always triumphs over make-believe.”
Rhodes also discussed how the fans have always supported him in his wrestling journey. The interview can be viewed on the ‘WWE Vault’ YouTube channel.
In addition, ‘WWE Vault’ recently posted a unique FCW match video which shows Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas battling against The Usos. You can watch this rare match on their official YouTube channel.
