Ex-WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel, despite no longer being a part of the international travels with WWE, is expressing his contentment with his existing job at Trader Joe’s.
During a recent episode of the podcast, “Behind The Turnbuckle,” Chimel elaborated on his current engagement in wrestling and his duties at the popular grocery store chain. He manifested,
“Presently, my routine job is as an associate at Trader Joe’s grocery store. The place has won my heart, and I am equally in love with the job role. I am also employed with AEW, a few times every month. Working there is something I also enjoy. Keeps me connected to the wrestling field and gives me a taste of the road life, albeit not as before, which I am honestly glad about. I don’t wish to travel like I used to. I am quite satisfied with both my current occupations.”
Chimel’s fame largely steams from his time as an announcer, but he also served as a producer for WWE until his departure in November of 2020.
He participated in his lone WWE clash on a SmackDown episode in August 1999. He competed against and won over Howard Finkel, consequently securing the privilege to announce on WWE’s blue brand.
