In a recent discussion with ComicBook.com, Tony Khan, the President of AEW, gave his thoughts on the speculation that his organization is considering hosting a grand stadium show in the Dallas/Arlington/Fort Worth region next year.
Khan clarified that although there are currently no plans for a stadium show, he finds the prospect thrilling and does not rule out the possibility for the future.
Highlighted comments from the interview are as follows:
Concerning the speculation of an AEW stadium event in Dallas, Khan remarked, “The concept of carrying out a stadium show here in the near future is not on our agenda, however, it is indeed an electrifying proposal and one that we could certainly achieve. It would indeed be a tantalizing endeavor for us.”
On the topic of organizing a substantial pay-per-view function in Texas, he stated, “I am not in a position to either confirm or deny the accuracy of these claims or discuss any imminent plans, but we have had successful events in Texas over the years. We, however, have never hosted an AEW pay-per-view in Texas. A significant number of our most prominent episodes aired in Texas, but we’ve never actually staged an AEW pay-per-view here. This is something our fans have been urging for, and exploring this option could be quite enthralling for us.”
On concentrating on the AEW All In: London to be held at Wembley Stadium next month, he confirmed, “We are highly focused on our imminent major stadium event; AEW ALL IN: London at Wembley Stadium.”
