In a recent conversation with Sports Illustrated, Joe Hendry shed light on the beneficial aspects of collaboration between WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling, underscoring the positive implications it has for both entities.
A few notable parts of the podcast are highlighted below:
Discussing how he came up with his theme song, Hendry shared, “My aim was to ascend to the card’s pinnacle, a journey I thought required a majestic theme song to match. My passion for music equals my love for wrestling. I revel in immersing myself in both. I wanted to involve the audience, and I knew that was a crucial ingredient. Incorporating hand claps and waves seemed to be the most viable options, leading me to construct the song with these elements in mind. The lyrics simply flowed. My goal was to foster belief from the audience in me. And what better method to achieve this than to express it in song?”
Reflecting on his debut in NXT, he said, “Did I anticipate a positive outcome? Absolutely. But, did I expect it to become WWE’s most viewed video on X for that year? Certainly not. The audience was privy to my genuine emotions, and I think that’s what resonates in wrestling.”
Speaking about the collaboration between TNA and WWE, Hendry remarked, “It’s becoming increasingly apparent to the world the caliber of talent within TNA. We are ecstatic to collaborate with WWE in a manner that brings mutual advantages – for NXT, TNA, and wrestling aficionados.”
